IDS: Inefficient Detection Systems
The reasons to use Intrusion Detection Systems are widely known, but do you know why such systems should not be used in real networks? This presentation explains why Intrusion Detection Systems are inefficient in detecting real hackers and introduce extra security problems for your network. Both signature and anomaly based systems are discussed with respect to their application in real networks and different protocol encoding techniques used by hackers to bypass Intrusion Detection Systems are shown.
