Ton van der Putte (Atos Origin)

Spoofing fingerprints in ten minutes

Since the early ninetieth Ton van der Putte spoofs biometrical fingerprint sensors with dummy fingerprints. With high-resolution sensors, sensors that can "see" pores in the ridges of the fingerprint, manufacturers did hope to solve this problem. In his presentation Ton shows, that with modern materials, but still with simple means, it is possible to make duplicates of fingerprints, with a resolution that is twice the resolution of the new generation fingerprint sensors. To prove it is no big talk at the end of the presentation, Ton duplicates a fingerprint of somebody out of the audience, within ten minutes, with which he then fools a sensor.
