Influencing Creator & Consumer behaviour:
To Copy Right or to Copy Wrong?
In the past, producing and distributing music were value adding processes in
the physical world. Record companies produced physical Cd's, stored them in
warehouses, and send trucks on the road to deliver packages to shops
potentially per region.
With the development and growth of Internet and the .mp3 format, supported by sufficient bandwidth availability, the production and distribution of music is migrating to the virtual world. The role of the music labels & record companies is changing its emphasis from “production & distribution” to “promotion & marketing”.
Illegal copy behavior by consumers is forcing the record companies faster to the new paradigm, but is also threatening the important financial reward for the artists. Digital Rights Management is a technology to bring back some control to artists.
VirtuosoMedia considers it a factor in the marketing mix: place, product, presentation, & price. We will provide some examples how our solutions help in establishing the new equilibrium:
- VirTunes.com (music platform)
- Vir2go (video platform) and,
- VirtiQ, the key to paid content
