How to Avoid an Identity Crisis

Identity management is not only about identification and authentication, but also about access management and user profile management. Security and privacy are not adequately addressed in current identity management solutions. The holy grail of single sign on (SSO) will not be achieved (and perhaps for the better). Federation, and its consequences regarding scope, responsibility and trust, is still not understood. We will explain these issues and problems, and discuss possible solutions to avoid a potential identity crisis.
