Security research in the Commission Framework Programme

An overview will be given of the research funded, and expected to be funded following the latest call, in the FP6-IST Programme (in particular the area ICT for Trust and Security) and in the Preparatory Action for Security Research. In addittion attention will be given to the plans for the seventh Framework Programme, starting in 2007, in the area of security related research. The focus expected to be developed within the IST programme and the role of a European Security Research Programme under FP7 will be discussed, as well as complementarity between the two.
